Insomnia Aids when OTC fails

Natural Foods work better to help with Insomnia when the over-the-counter drugs don't work. The foods that happen to work the best are the ones rich in natural melatonin and happen to be strong antihistamines. Below is a quick and small list of some of the strongest ones. You only need a handful a day throughout your day or right before your bedtime for them to take affect:

  • Risveratrol Vitamin/Grape Juice/Purple Grapes/ Small amount of Red Wine (if you are of-age)
  • Walnuts
  • Pistachios
  • Pumpkin Seeds with the husk are preferred because it includes Vitamin K1. Without the husk, they are called Pepitas at the store. (Eat the seeds throughout the day but even last-minute helps).
  • Cherry juice or Cherries, and put your head on the pillow immediately.
  • Those foods help build depleted melatonin much better than over-the-counter, in my opinion.
  • Teas can help too: Peach, Passionfruit, Lavender, Vanilla, Cherry, Blackberry, Cinnamon
  • Milk with Honey
  • Stretching your muscles, especially your legs can help too, but get in bed right after.

Second, I would get as much sleep as possible. Most likely, when you are suffering from Insomnia, the best method is to take a little bit of cherry juice before you sleep, or lavender tea. If you want to make sure you have enough natural melatonin building up for your sleep cycle, eat handfuls of pistachios, walnuts, and pumpkin seeds. I have found that over-the-counter melatonin can stop working for some people sometimes. So, natural sources make better quality alternatives when that happens. A sleep cycle should be approximately 4 hours. And most people should get in an average of 2 sleep cycles every night or at least most nights. If you are not averaging 6-8 hours of sleep throughout the week, then you have a problem. If you are waking up multiple times a night, you have insomnia. If you miss a couple of hours every night and then have to crash at the end of the week, then you have insomnia. If you just lay in bed and don't doze off from being tired, then you have insomnia. If you toss and turn throughout the night, then you have insomnia. If you take longer than 15 -30 minutes of laying in bed to fall asleep, then you have insomnia. If you pull all-nighters for any reason, then you have insomnia. The body and the mind freak out when it does not get enough sleep. If you are sleep-deprived, make sure you are eating Watermelon with some Lime juice squeezed on top for your health in the mornings every time you have trouble. It helps clean out the brain fluid in the head that did not clean out while you were not sleeping. Because, that's the point of sleep, to renew your brain cells and wake you up refreshed the next morning (https://www.health.harvard.edu/mind-and-mood/are-toxins-flushed-out-of-the-brain-during-sleep). So, get your beauty rest.
